Warehouse Artworks was established in 1979 by Rod Sasaki and Brian Smith. They originally were selling fine art posters and doing custom picture framing at 237 McDermot. In the late 1980s, Rod became the sole owner and relocated Warehouse Artworks to its present location at 222 McDermot. While continuing to sell fine art posters, WA began to represent many local artists who have displayed their artwork in the gallery for over 45 years.
The majority of artists in the gallery are from Manitoba and mainly Winnipeg. The artists represent a diversity of mediums including acrylic painting, oil painting, clay, porcelain, dye on silk, photography, and more.
In addition to the fine art gallery, WA also provides creative and imaginative prime custom picture framing under the same roof. Hundreds of frames are available to choose from, along with coloured and textured matting. This custom picture framing service not only presents your artwork at its best but also archivally protects its value.
Today, Warehouse Artworks is still owned and operated by Rod Sasaki.
