Warehouse Artworks was established in 1979 by Rod Sasaki. They originally were selling fine art posters and doing custom picture framing at 237 McDermot where the Free Press Cafe is now located. In the late 80s, they relocated to 222 McDermot where they have been ever since. While continuing to sell fine art posters they also represented many local artists who have displayed their artwork in the gallery over the last 40+ years.
The majority of artists in the gallery are from Manitoba and mainly Winnipeg. The artists represent a diversity of mediums including acrylic, oil, porcelain, dye on silk, photography, and many more.
In addition to the gallery, they also provide custom picture framing. Hundreds of frames are available to choose from along with coloured and textured matting. This picture framing service not only helps your prized possessions look great but they also use the proper materials to help preserve them over time.
Today Warehouse Artworks is still owned and operated by Rod with the help of his daughter, Marielle.
